In the fast paced, fast changing internet world, it is always useful for web designers to stream line their strategies to cater for the prevailing internet needs as well as cover emerging and web designing. In the New Year, there are the top 10 web designing trends worthy of note.

Responsive Web Design

Today's internet world is marked with multiple platforms for access to the internet. The prevailing trend is uniform web design. This simply means that internet users can have the same experience on a website regardless of the platform that they use. For example, a good shared user experience should be experience by a user on a Personal Computer and a smart phone or MacBook user. Responsive web design is no doubt the embodiment of true multimedia, and tops the list of the top 10 web designing trends of 2013.

Mobile Friendly Websites

More people are accessing the internet today on their mobile phones than ever before, edging out the traditional PC and laptop in terms of numbers. Any good web designer knows the importance of tapping into this massive market, and design websites that are easily accessible on iPhone, Windows 8 phones as well as beginner smartphones. This is a little different from a responsive site in that the website is specifically designed for mobile users.

The Infinite Scrolling

When searching for images on Google for example, infinite scrolling offers what the name suggests, the user can scroll infinitely as opposed to the traditional page 1, 2, 3 and so on. This is a new design that can be seen mainly on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The Flash-less Design

HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript have all surpassed the older and more rigid flash design. These new designs offer better flexibility and user experience especially for mobile users, as well as being more SEO friendly. It will not come as a surprise when the flash design is rendered obsolete in the coming years.

The Minimalistic Approach

Gone are the days when websites were cluttered with the not-so-useful to the entirely irrelevant content. The trend now entails leaving sufficient empty space, thus being more minimalistic in the web design concept. These websites are highly functional and not to mention aesthetically pleasing.
